STOP FUELLING GENOCIDE
STOP FUELLING GENOCIDE
is our international campaign, jointly organised with organisations in Turkey and the Global Energy Embargo for Palestine network.
The campaign targets the Baku-Tblisi-Ceyhan (BTC) supply chain that runs through Azerbaijan, Turkey and supplies oil to Israel.

In 2024, we published an investigative research report with Shado Mag and the Transnational Institute into the BTC crude oil supply chain. We identified that the energy it produced was transported from Azerbaijan through to Turkey, and then shipped to Israel. In Israel, the oil was refined into jet fuel and other military grade products used to power the IOF's genocide in Gaza.
This research informed the launch of our Stop Fuelling Genocide campaign where we issued a call to action to groups around the world to apply pressure on the actors complicit in fuelling the Israeli genocide via the BTC oil pipeline.

OUR ACTIONS & INTERVENTIONS
During COP-29,
hosted in Baku, Azerbaijan, we drew attention to Azerbaijan and Turkey's complicity in Israel's genocide by enabling the transport of BTC crude oil to Israel. Our pressure points included the Turkish state, as it had not place restrictions on oil to Israel as of 2024, and BP and SOCAR for its joint ownership of the oil pipeline.
On November 11, 2024
we organised demonstrations internationally outside the Turkish embassies in Britain, Croatia, Japan, France, Germany, Ireland and more. These demonstrations were coordinated for the first day of COP-29 where people united in their demand for Turkey and Azerbaijan to end their supply of oil to Israel.
On November 16, 2024
we organised demonstrations internationally at BP and SOCAR offices for their direct complicity in fuelling Israel's genocide via the BTC pipeline.
At COP-29,
we provided key interventions with a range of speakers exposing Azerbaijan's complicity in Israel's genocide and demanding a global energy embargo for Palestine.
IMPACTS & POLITICAL PRESSURE
In response to our demonstrations, members of the Turkish Energy Ministry and government claimed they had enforced a trade embargo on Israel and that they were not trading oil. Through satellite research tracking the Kimolos and Seavigour tankers, we showed that Turkey was in fact making routine and continuous oil shipments to Israel.
Our research was shared in Turkish parliament and exposed Turkey for deceiving their own people regarding the nature of their trade with Israel.

In 2025, Turkey joined the Hague Group after international pressure and has since committed to taking concrete measures, including suspending all trade with Israel and reviewing their contracts with companies complicit in Israel's genocide.
